Pantera

Name

Juan “John” Acosta

Bio

Born in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Juan left school as valedictorian and went directly into the Navy, where he was quickly brought into the SEALs, and specifically SEAL Team Six. Throughout his SEALs tenure, he operated dozens of classified black ops.

He then left the SEALs to run his own division of clandestine ops for the CIA, which brought him onto the scene when the UN Secretary General’s daughter was used as a suicide bomber. It was here he joined Marc Russel—Domino—to track down the responsible terrorists on their own with the other “Four Horsemen.”

This would end up costing him command of his own branch of covert and clandestine operations, reporting directly to the President of the United States. However, he believed in what he and the Horsemen needed to do.

After these events, the Four Horsemen would become legends within the community, and they would all work with Domino to create PRISM. He would found the Magenta Ray—PRISMs stealth and covert ops branch—which would lovingly gain the nickname “Pink Panthers,” after his callsign Pantera, which is Spanish for “Panther.”

However, Pantera isn’t just his callsign for how he moves through the battlefield—like a panther—John is also a huge heavy metal fan, and any downtime he gets is spent in the mosh pits of his favorite bands.
